Itineraries

Day 1

Drive Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,460 m)

The journey begins with a scenic drive along the Trishuli River highway. The road winds through terraced hills, rivers, and small roadside settlements. As you leave Kathmandu Valley, the air becomes fresher and landscapes more rural. Snow peaks may appear in the distance on a clear day. The drive can be rough in sections but offers dramatic river views. Syabrubesi is a small Tamang town and serves as the gateway to Ganesh Himal and Langtang. Overnight at lodge.

Day 2

Trek Syabrubesi to Gatlang (2,238 m)

Today begins with a steady uphill climb through terraced farms and traditional Tamang villages. You cross suspension bridges and gradually enter pine and rhododendron forests. The climb is continuous but rewarding with expanding valley views. Gatlang is a beautiful hillside village with stone houses and rich Tibetan-influenced culture. Mani walls and prayer flags decorate the settlement. Langtang Lirung can be seen on clear days. Overnight at community lodge.

 

Day 3

Trek Gatlang to Somdang (3,271 m)

The trail passes sacred Parvati Kunda lake before entering dense forest. You gradually gain altitude through peaceful woodland. As you climb higher, the vegetation becomes thinner and the air cooler. Somdang lies in a former mining area surrounded by dramatic mountain ridges. Ganesh Himal begins to dominate the skyline. The settlement is remote and quiet, offering true wilderness atmosphere. Overnight at basic lodge or camp.

Day 4

Trek Somdang to Pangsang La (3,842 m)

Today you ascend to one of the best viewpoints in the region. The trail climbs steadily through alpine terrain and open ridges. Pangsang La offers a spectacular 360-degree panorama of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Langtang, and even Annapurna on clear days. Colorful prayer flags mark the high pass. The view at sunrise and sunset is breathtaking. The landscape feels vast and untouched. Overnight at lodge or campsite near the pass.

Day 5

Trek Pangsang La to Tipling (2,087 m)

After enjoying morning views, you descend through forests of rhododendron and pine. The temperature becomes warmer as you lose altitude. The trail passes small shepherd huts and remote hamlets. Tipling is a culturally rich village inhabited mainly by Tamang and Gurung communities. Traditional houses and farming terraces surround the settlement. This area receives very few trekkers. Overnight at local lodge.

Day 6

Today is a shorter walking day with gentle ups and downs. The trail moves through terraced farmland and peaceful countryside. Chalish Gaon is a mixed ethnic village with Gurung, Tamang, and Dalit communities living together. The village is known for cultural harmony and traditional lifestyle. You can explore local homes and observe daily village activities. The atmosphere is quiet and authentic. Overnight at homestay or lodge.

Day 7

Trek Chalish Gaon to Hindung (2,400 m)

The trail climbs gradually through forest and hillside paths. You walk along scenic ridges with distant Himalayan views. Hindung is a remote village surrounded by grazing land and forest. The region is rich in medicinal herbs and natural resources. The peaceful environment gives a deep sense of isolation. This is one of the less visited parts of the trek. Overnight at lodge.

Day 8

Trek Hindung to Kashigaun / Kasi Gaun (1,900 m)

Today involves a long descent through forest and terraced farmland. The trail passes small settlements and seasonal grazing areas. Kashigaun is a beautiful traditional Gurung village in Dhading district. The houses are built with stone and wood, reflecting classic rural architecture. You can enjoy views of Ganesh Himal for the last time. The cultural experience here is very strong and authentic. Overnight at lodge or homestay.

 

Day 9

 Trek Kashigaun to Budhathum or Baseri (850–1,000 m)

The trail descends steadily toward lower river valleys. The climate becomes warmer and more subtropical. You pass through terraced rice fields and cross suspension bridges over local rivers. Budhathum and Baseri are small roadside settlements connected by rough jeep roads. This marks the end of your trekking journey. Overnight at simple lodge.

Day 10

Drive Budhathum / Baseri to Kathmand

After breakfast, you take a local bus or shared jeep back to Kathmandu. The road follows river valleys and rural hillsides. Sections of the road can be rough depending on weather conditions. Gradually, you re-enter the busy environment of the capital city. The trek ends with memories of untouched trails, rich Tamang and Gurung culture, and stunning Ganesh Himal panoramas.
