Nepal Visa Information

Most travelers visiting Nepal can obtain a visa easily. Nepal offers Visa on Arrival facilities at Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu) and major land border entry points.

Visa on Arrival

Tourists can apply for a visa upon arrival by filling out an online form at the airport kiosk or in advance through Nepal’s official immigration website. After completing the form, proceed to the payment counter and immigration desk.

Visa fees must be paid in cash (USD or equivalent convertible currency). It is recommended to carry passport-size photos and a valid passport with at least 6 months validity.

Who Needs a Visa?

Most nationalities require a visa to enter Nepal. However, citizens of some countries may need to apply in advance through a Nepalese embassy. We recommend checking with your nearest Nepalese consulate before travel.

Trekking Permits

Besides the tourist visa, trekking in Nepal requires special permits depending on the region (such as TIMS card, National Park Permit, Conservation Area Permit, or Restricted Area Permit). Himalaya Soul Treks arranges all necessary permits for your trek.

Travel Insurance

All trekkers are strongly advised to have travel insurance that covers high-altitude trekking and emergency helicopter evacuation.
